Plantworx 2019

Plantworx 2019

Plantworx is the biennial event which aims to bring together everything which is exciting in plant! It is an Construction Equipment Association (CEA) event, which has been organised 'for the industry by the industry'. Plantworx 2019 takes place in the East of England Arena, Peterborough between the 11th and 13th June and is a must visit for anybody who is involved in industries which use heavy plant (or just those amongst you who like looking at big machines!)

PLANTWORX 2017 was quite a large event, attracting over 15,000 visitors, who attended from a variety of sectors including; plant and tool hire, civil engineering, groundworks, contractors, utilities, highways, demolition, waste and recycling and many more. The 2019 event looks set to be even larger and has some new show features.

Amongst the many show features, Plantworx 2019 will feature a Classic Plant Exhibition for the first time. The exhibition aims to showcase 'classic' plant from the 1980's and before, offering a nostalgic look back at the machines of the past and an interesting comparison to current technology.

If you are someone who likes to get hands-on, the 2019 show will also feature a 'Simulation Zone' which we think sounds pretty cool!

"The Simulation Zone at Plantworx will comprise six state-of the-art simulators which will replicate a ‘real working construction site’ - but in a virtual world. Each of the simulators will be linked and will represent an individual construction machine – an excavator, wheel loader, tower crane, dozer or an articulated dump truck – as examples. Visitors to the zone will be invited to work together on the simulators in the virtual world to complete tasks on a construction site. Spectators will be offered oculus rift headsets to join the virtual world as bystanders and offer encouragement and support to the participants!"

The simulation zone will reportedly also house a number of 80" screens and a huge event screen, offering visitors live feeds from the simulators and their operators. You will need to book a slot though - visit https://www.plantworx.co.uk/event/2019/page/simulation-zone for more information.

In addition to the show features, there will be a large number of exhibitors showing the latest innovations in plant and associated services which may be of interest to those involved in industries which utilise heavy plant.
